Waitresses were super attentive and friendly. General Tso was definitely a 10/10 as well as the chicken on the stick.
Their buffet has returned. Their food presentation is great. This is a small Chinese restaurant in Shelbyville, Illinois. They offer a taste of Japanese as well! The staff are friendly. The waitress/part owner knows us well & brings me Oolong tea & knows that my hubby will order beef fried rice! Her brother/part owner is the chef & will wait on tables as well! They are a fantastic small town Chinese restaurant!
I don't have a chance to visit often, but Yen Ching provides consistently good food in a buffet setting. Today I did order take out to bring to my son and it was ok. If they are on top of their game and have a good variety in the Buffett then the the value and quality will be worth stopping in for.
This is the absolute best Chinese buffet I've ever been to. the food is always consistently so good and fresh! My husband and I visit here every time we're in town to see his family and it is always one of the highlights of our trips!
It's a great to have the buffet back at Yen Ching! Their food is amazing and such a great variety. We enjoyed every bite. It's affordable, too.

This place is not one of my favorites, IT IS MY FAVORITE. Do not order off of the menu ( I never have) get the buffet. It will fill you up with great Chinese and Japanese food. The hot and sour soup is the best I've ever had and the fried donut things will make you cry with joy. Try as much as you can on the buffet, even if it is something you wouldn't typically go for, as it will be worth it. And the staff is super friendly and not pushy. The buffet is also available to go. Just ask about it when you walk in!
